Are you a small business owner or finance professional eager to learn about central bank digital currencies and the future of digital finance?
Join researchers from the University of Surrey and blockchain experts Portdex, to explore the opportunities and challenges CBDCs offer to SMEs and their supply chains.
On 6 November, the online event will help business owners, finance professionals, researchers and others understand the implications of new blockchain technologies in light of the planned introduction of a government-backed digital pound and other digital assets like invoice tokenisation.
Attendees will hear from a panel of expert researchers who are working on an ESRC funded project to produce business analyses and feasibility studies for CBDC uptake, develop a peer-to-peer digital transaction network, and bring SMEs together to inform and influence policy in this area. Participants will be invited to engage in experimental simulation studies if they are interested.
This event is free to attend, as part of the ESRC Festival of Social Science 2024. We encourage SME owners, business leaders in charge of financial transactions, and any members of the public or academia interested in the future of digital finance. Spaces are limited and tickets are offered on a first come first served basis.
