Kwami Ahiabenu II

He is a leading tech and innovations expert. Kwami has written extensively on FinTech and serves as a Consultant to the sector as well as providing board leadership to a FinTech start up.

Martin Kwame Awagah

He is an Economist and Financial Analyst. Martin’s professional concentration for the past 10 years has been on economic research, governance, public policy, international development, financial analysis and project management. He has spoken at several FinTech events and organises the annual Ghana FinTech outlook event.

Emeka Okoye

Emeka is the CEO of Vikantti Software and CTO & co-founder of Next.2.us. The latter is a website that focuses on geosocial connectivity using various applications, including SMS and mobile phones. Okoye has over 17 years’ experience in Web, Enterprise & Mobile Software and Project Management. He graduated as a Geologist in 1990 but being passionate about software engineering, he built Nigeria’s first banking website (IBTC, 1996) and Internet Banking app (IBTC, 1997), co-founded one of Nigeria’s earliest start-ups and built the biggest Nigerian Portal (NgEx.com, 1997) and was the Project Manager/Lead Architect of Nigeria’s first major E-commerce Project in 2000 (FSB Bank, Valucard, UPS & Xerox, 2000).

 Saqib Nazir

Saqib Nazir is a technology entrepreneur who loves to develop and invest in businesses that use technology to solve everyday problems in emerging markets. With an education in Information Systems Engineering, Saqib has extensive experience in developing and implementing solutions aimed at making technology locally relevant.Saqib has invested in a number of start-ups across various fields such as fintech, identity, land documentation and internet delivery.Saqib’s current focus is People’s Pension, utilising technology to make pensions and other financial services available to informal workers in order to build resilient livelihoods and to reduce old-age poverty and thus build a better tomorrow for all.

Gerald M. Nyakwawa

Nyakwawa is a CDFP graduate and a consultant who specialises in finding sustainable solutions for the Bottom of the Pyramid (BoP) and growing national and regional participation of Micro-Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the digital payments space. The informal sector has more often that not been excluded from payments system due to demand and supply side factors. He believes and is convinced that there is a business case for including the informal sector in mainstream payment systems.Gerald is an advocate for instant inclusive retail payments he has experience in retail banking and digital financial services.    Gerald holds a certificate in law and regulation of inclusive finance from the University of Luxemburg and the Chief Association Executive at the Digital Finance Practitioners Association of Zimbabw

 Arnold Elton Kavaarpuo

Arnold Elton Kavaarpuo is a financial inclusion evangelist, fintech enthusiast and published author.
As Country Director of JUMO Ghana Limited he oversaw the company set up and growth to 4.5m+ in customers and GHS11 billion+ in disbursements values.

Prior to exploring the digital finance space at JUMO, Arnold was heading the Unsecured Lending Unit of Letshego Ghana Savings and Loans Plc where he oversaw the development and growth of 100% unsecured loan products for the informal sector as well as a direct-debit-only payday loan product.

Over the course of his 16-year career, Arnold have held various roles including; Board Chair, Mutual Fund Director, Head of Sales & Operations, Business Development Manager, Senior Sales Manager, National Training Manager, Project Manager, Sales Manager and Corporate Business Executive.

Arnold holds a BA in Geography and Rural Development and an MBA in Global Business. He is currently studying towards a Master’s in Business Research and a Doctor in Business Administration with a research focus on Inclusive Innovations.

She is a former General Manager, Business Development at the Ghana Interbank Payment & Settlement Systems Limited (GhIPSS).

He is the CEO of Veneka, a South Africa company that provides tailored payment technology solutions, with a focus on the African continent. Their products and services are targeted at Financial Services, and enable Card, Mobile and e-Banking business solutions.

Yinsongti Tindana

Yinsongti is an attorney who is passionate about technology and innovation and the many opportunities they present for developing solutions to Africa’s development challenges. Currently an Attorney with the 8 Geeks @ Law, a technology focused law firm in Ghana, Yinsongti’s practice covers Transactions, Corporate, Regulatory and Intellectual Property for technology focused startups. She has wide experience in data and financial technology regulation from her work with fintechs in Ghana.

She is also currently an LLM candidate in Law, Technology and Entrepreneurship candidate at Cornell Law School.

Kojo Dougan

Kojo Dougan is an experienced Business Operations & Strategy Executive with a passion for skills development, mentoring and a demonstrated history of working in the information technology and services industry.
He is a Certified Solutions Provider with 20 years’ experience in developing iterations and strategizing technology solutions for the private sector and is recognized for leadership strategies, building relationships and planning useful digital finance solutions for financial inclusion providers and dedicated to efficiency, entrepreneurship and long-term results.
As Senior Consultant with Kyrios Dougan Inc. he serves as Advisor to a number of fintechs and startups with the responsibility of ensuring best practice approach and developing frictionless user experience modules in digital channels.

Majid Malaika joined the International Monetary Fund early 2015 and have built the Application Security practice at the IMF from the ground up; he is currently working as the Lead Digital Transformation and Cybersecurity Risk Officer within the Digital Advisory Unit in ITD to enable the Fund to experiment and research emerging technologies such as blockchain/DLT, smart contract, big data, machine learning and artificial intelligence and its impact to Technical Assistance missions, growth and stability for the Fund’s member countries. Majid received his M.S degree in Computer Engineering and his Doctorate Degree in Software Engineering from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. His research has been published in various journals and conferences including the CorssTalk Department of Defense(DoD) journal. Majid’s prior engagements were application security specialist and security consulting for leading educational technology companies and multinational financial firms in New York, NY. His work experience includes threat modeling, architecture risk analysis, risk management, secure code review, penetration testing; in addition to researching the security of Fintech topics such as Central Bank Digital Currency (CBDC), smart contract, open banking and many more.

Ashraf Khan is a Senior Financial Sector Expert at the Monetary and Capital Markets Department of the IMF. He leads MCM’s work on central bank governance, transparency, risk management, and cash currency management. He also contributes to the Fund’s work on fintech, and Islamic Finance, and manages the IMF’s Central Bank Legislation Database.
Before joining the IMF, Ashraf worked as Head of the Governance and Accounting Department at the Central Bank of the Netherlands, as WTO Trade Policy Advisor at the Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs, and as a corporate lawyer with CMS Derks Star Busmann.
He holds a Master of Dutch Private Law, and a Master of International Law from the Vrije Universiteit of Amsterdam, as well as a Master of Philosophy from Jawaharhal Nehru University, New Delhi.
Ashraf is a founding Board Member of the Duisenberg School of Finance, Amsterdam, and has published numerous articles on governance, risk management, fintech and central bank digital currencies. His latest paper (with co-author Majid Malaika) covers the links between central bank risk management, fintech, and cybersecurity.

Final examination will be made up of 30 multiple questions with a time box of 20 minutes
